After GraphicConverter, Snapz Pro has to be the most useful piece of shareware. From the fine folks at Ambrosia Software, it is simply the best way to take screen shots. Once you have added the small control panel to your system, pressing shift-command-3 (or any other key combination you choose to define) will bring up this neat little palette:

It lets you trim, capture, crop, scale and even dither any portion of your screen in a snap without even having to open up PhotoShop. You can send these images straight to the clipboard, printer, Screen Snapz folder in your Apple Menu, or any folder of your choice. If you choose to save it to a folder, then you can choose the file type and creator. Web site creators will find the way it saves the pictures height and width in the Get Info window very useful.
As you can see, it can capture the whole screen, a certain window, a selection of the screen or a menu. Without Snapz, there is just no way to capture a menu. Images can be scaled anywere from 10% to 400%. During my years using it, it has never once caused my PowerMac to freeze, and has executed flawlessly. I love this utility, and I'm sure you will too.

Those Ambrosia types are never to be over looked, pay a visit to their site and check out past reviews from this ezine such as EV and EV Over-ride.
